Ash Wednesday Miracle

Wow..I've been neglecting my writing this week! I'm so sorry, it's just that I've been very busy. This week hasn't been my greatest. It seems like its been one thing after another. However, it looks like I've had an Ash Wednesday miracle.

The biggest problem I've been faced with this weekend involved where I'm going to live next year. Jon and I won the Teaching Fellows lottery. For our room, we picked a single suite. These are the best rooms in the LLC. Each person has their own personal bedroom and a living room. It's basically like an apartment.

However, at the beginning of this week, I was informed that they basically double booked our room! They actually gave our room away to someone else. I had no place to live!! If that wasn't bad enough, word got around that the suite still belonged to me and Jon. After that, we both had this group of four guys hounding us to give up our suite to them!

Now I'm usually a nice guy, but this time I was going to go for what I wanted. Jon and I fought for what is rightfully ours, and we get our single suite next year. That was an Ash Wednesday miracle.

I hope all the rest of you had a wonderful Mardi Gras and Ash Wednesday. Now begins the season of Lent leading up to Easter. However, there is the matter of Valentine's Day to attend to. I'm still accepting applications for the position of Valentine. Inquire with the good Doctor for details.

May God keep you this and every night.

Super Saturday

Super Bowl fever swept across campus today. Everywhere students were gearing up for the big game. The day for me started off by sleeping in. I actually got to catch up on my beauty sleep. Lord knows I need it...

Then, I had to go to a rehearsal. On Sunday! It was for West Side Story, and it was hard. Good thing I was just substituting for another player. I would hate to have to play all that hard music. I would rather just watch and listen.

After that, I caught what was left of the Army Band concert. They did really well. I was impressed. If my band can sound that good, we would be unstoppable. I guess I can always hope.

At 6 PM I reported to Jon's room for a Super Bowl party. Everyone that knows me knows that I really don't care much about football. I was in it for the food. Pizza, hot wings, cheese sticks, and desserts. Man it was good! The Patriots ended up winning. Now, as a Cavalier, I have been taught to dislike all things Patriot. So I guess I'm not too happy about them winning.

After the game, I of course watched Who's Line. There was some real funny stuff on there tonight. I'm looking forward to the new episodes that come on tomorrow.

I go to bed tonight actually in a good mood. I am so blessed to have a wonderful place to go to school. I am so blessed to have friends who care, and who will stay up to all hours keeping me company.

May God keep you this and every night.

It has been said that "Music is the key to the female heart". If this is the case, why can't I unlock one, because I've got a crapload of keys. 88 to be exact.
