The Ticking of The Clock
Have you ever wondered if there is a way to slow down time? Perhaps you've questioned the phenomena of time speeding up as we get older. Maybe you've experienced how slow time can be when you are waiting for something.
For one of the most constant elements of the universe, time seems anything but constant, or perhaps I should say consistant...
I bring up this topic becuase I seem to have lost my command of time. I have this overwhelming feeling that I am running out of time, and that there is no way to catch up. It could be due to all the projects and things that have come due. It could be that I'm very heavily involved with many things. It could be that our football team keeps winning so we have to keep going to games.
Many factors play a role in why I feel this way. Strangely enough, although I may feel that I don't command my time anymore, I don't feel hopeless. I still feel as if I am in good control, and that I have a good head on my shoulders. Hopefully I have a good body for those shoulders to rest on.
As I sit here tonight, Boone is quiet and damp. It has been raining for the entire day. However, it has been a refreshing rain. Cleansing, while at the same time annoying. May we all take the time to realize how much time means to us, and how we may better use it.
May God keep us, this and every night.
"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. " ~ Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
