The Next "New" Day

First, I wish to point out..I was right.

I awoke this morning to see that the sun had indeed risen again. It was the start of a new day. So many people throughout the day commented on how "a new day has come for America". I would just like to point out one small detail..

A new day arrives in America every twenty-four hours.

I truly do not mean that sarcastically. If you allow it, that metaphorical "new day" can arrive with each sunrise. For with that new day comes new chances. Chances to live, to love, and to enjoy life. Each new day brings with it a new challenge, and a new chance for personal growth. We all go through life, given multiple chances to have that "new day". We typically allow them to pass us by.

With each new day we are given the opportunity to make lasting decisions that shape who we are and what we become. Each new day builds upon the new day that preceded it. I challenge you to make every day that "new day". That day in which you take charge of your life. That day where you stand up for what is true, and right, and just. That new day where instead of serving just yourself, you get out of your own way and allow yourself to serve the greater good. That new day, where together, we build a brighter future for ourselves and our future generations.

Yes, a new day has come and if you are blessed, one will come again tomorrow. This time...make it count.
