I Watched History

Today, I watched history. I saw the first African -American elected as President. Now as for who I actually voted for it:

A. Doesn't Matter. and
B. Is none of your business.

However, seeing as I do still live in this country, I rightfully have a vested intrest in what happens next. So what does happen next? I'll tell you...

Tomorrow at approximately 6:30-7:00 ish...the sun will rise. Millions of Americans will have to go to work to try and pay their bills. Countless others will go without. Men and Women in uniform of all kinds will wear it once again to protect our safety, advance liberty, and save lives.

What must happen, is that this spirit of.."Yes We Can"...cannot fade. An election, does not create change. It is the people who create it. The potential for change and power for change has been there for a long time, it just lay dormant in the American public.

The sun will rise tomorrow, history will go on, and our lives must move forward. The only difference, is that now..perhaps we will take an active role in making our country better..

May God keep you, and the United States of America, this and every night.

Patriotism... is not short, frenzied outbursts of emotion, but the tranquil and steady dedication of a lifetime. ~Adlai Stevenson
