Sing Once Again With Me
So this is what it feels like to be 19. Strange, doesn't feel any different from 18 or 17.
My actual birthday was on Thursday. Seeing as I was still in school at the time, my family had to bring any sort of celebration to me. My mother, grandmother, and aunt came up that afternoon to take me out to lunch. Of course, I chose a big restaurant and stuffed myself. Not smart seeing as I had a concert to play at that night. After orchestra rehearsal, the same group went to McAlister's Deli to eat. Needless to say, we ate light this time.
Then we had the concert. I played quite well if I do say so myself. The entire orchestra played well. We received a standing ovation! Of course, after the concert I got complements from the concert-goers. Then my family said goodbye, and headed back home. I was left to spend the few remaining hours of my birthday to myself.
One thing I did enjoy though was all the wonderful birthday messages that I would find throughout the day on my computer. I got well-wishes from people stretching across the entire state of North Carolina. That made me feel quite loved...
So now, what's happening. I'm back home. Good old Burke County. I have no specific plans, no specific things I must accomplish. There are a few things I would like to see happen though. I would like to attend two after-school rehearsals this week. One marching, and one concert setting. I would like to meet up with some of my high school friends. I would like to see those special people in my life. I would like to for one week, forget about Boone, NC and get back to the people and times that made me so happy.
So there's what has happened, and there's what I would like to happen. If you think you can help with all this, feel free to let me know. I can't wait to see everyone!
So, it's time to Sing Once Again With Me....just like we did in high school.
"Another year. Another chance to laugh, cry, smile, or frown. Another chance to love, romance, sweep someone off her feet. Another chance to make mistakes, fall, get up, and keep going. Another year...I can't wait!"
